The Johnston County Aero Modelers Club is located near Smithfield, North Carolina. Our flying field is located off of Galilee Road from just South of Highway 210. The entrance to our field is marked by a sign on the left hand side and is also used by farmers to access their fields.
We are a club of about 36 full and part time flyers and we have a lot of diversity in the types of aircraft that we fly. Glow fueled powered airplanes are by far the most common airplanes at the field. However, it is not rare to see from electric to 100" + aerobatic ships in the skies above our field. We fly from a grass field that our members volunteer to keep well groomed during the flying season
JCAC Meetings: Are usually the first Friday of every month at the field from April to September. During the winter months our meetings are held at the Johnston County Airport near Smithfield. All meeting start at 7:00pm.
All of our meeting are open to the Public. Anyone interested in model aviation is more than welcome to attend. | |

[March 6th , 2009]
Hello all…..Here are some notes from the March meeting. We had about fifteen people show up, nice turnout. We voted in some new members and they are Jimmy Pernell, Mike Talton, Dale Holloway, Trey and Raeford Mitchell and Johnny Sutherland. Welcome all. Bill has ordered hats with our logo on them, he took orders from the members which were there but I believe that there will be more available. Chris brought in a estimate for the lawn and bug care for the field that will cover us through March of next year. We voted and it was approved. Harry was working on our tractors with Dave on Sunday and he will pick up new batteries for them so we will have a tractor ready to go if needed. The pond was brought up and fishing is allowed but it is catch and release only. Also please park on the flight line and walk down to the pond if you are going to fish. Remember the pond does not belong to us and it is a courtesy to be allowed to use it. Keith set up a link on our web site for us to load pics or calendar advents and a lot more.
